6 Ways to Celebrate Boss’s Day

Boss’s Day is Monday, October 16, and we’ve got some ideas for how you can say thank you to the leader you love!

It’s almost Boss’s Day! That means it’s time to show your appreciation for the person who guides your team to success. Whether your boss is a mentor, friend, or both, acknowledge their efforts and leadership. Here are some ways you can make feel extra appreciated on Monday:

1. Personalized Messages

Start by expressing your gratitude with a heartfelt, handwritten note. You can also send a virtual eCard with a custom message attached. Regardless of how you deliver it, sincere words can go a long way in conveying your appreciation. Share specific instances or qualities you admire about your boss, making it a memorable gesture.

2. Office Decorations

Decorate your boss’s desk or workspace to set a festive mood. Balloons, streamers, and their favorite snacks can add a touch of thoughtfulness. Consider involving other colleagues in the decoration process to make it a team effort.

3. Gifts

Choosing the perfect gift for your boss can be tricky, but it’s not impossible. Think about meaningful presents that align with their personal interests. Some examples may include a book they’ve been wanting to read, a plant for their office, or a practical item that they can use for one of their hobbies.

4. Team Lunch

Organize a team lunch to surprise your boss. Collaborate with your team and order from your boss’s favorite restaurant. Sharing a meal together encourages bonding and provides an opportunity for everyone to express their appreciation. You can reminisce together and swap funny stories about that leader.

5. Group Card or Celebration Board

Instead of an individual card, go in on a group card. Gather signatures and messages from your team to create a collective expression of gratitude. If you have access to a digital recognition platform, create a celebration board (or something similar) that multiple employees can contribute to.

6. Acts of Service

Offer to take on additional tasks or responsibilities for the day to lighten your boss’s workload. This gesture not only demonstrates your willingness to support them but also allows them to enjoy a stress-free day.

We talk a lot about how leaders can appreciate and engage their employees. These same leaders deserve a big thank you as well! Show your boss that you value their leadership, support, and guidance through thoughtful gestures and recognition. Go the extra mile to make them feel appreciated on Boss’s Day!
